Members of Congress should support bipartisan measures to promote patient choice and pharmacy competition including:
- S. 1058/H.R. 1971, the Pharmacy Competition and Consumer Choice Act, which would empower patients and give health plan sponsors basic insights into secretive, billion-dollar middlemen known as pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
- H.R. 4215, the Medicare Pharmacy Transparency and Fair Audit Act, which would allow pharmacists to better serve Medicare patients by requiring insurace companies to reimburse us fairly and not harass us with frivolous audits;
- H.R. 1946, the Preserving Our Hometown Independent Pharmacies Act which would allow independent pharmacies to better serve their patients by pushing back against insurance companies that want to push more patients to mail order rather than allowing them to use their neighborhood pharmacy.
- H.R. 1936, the Medicare Access to Diabetes Supplies Act which would ensure that Medicare patients can continue to obtain their diabetes testing supplies from the pharmacy of their choice.
